    Zhang Kai is an Associate Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the School of Intelligent Science and Technology, Nanjing University (Suzhou Campus). He received his Ph.D. from Harbin Institute of Technology in September 2019, during which he spent three years as a visiting scholar at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. From January 2020 to February 2024, he conducted postdoctoral research at the Computer Vision Laboratory of ETH Zurich. In March 2024, he joined Nanjing University, focusing on low-level vision tasks such as image and video restoration and enhancement. His research papers have garnered over 37,000 citations on Google Scholar, with a single paper cited more than 9,000 times and 8 papers each exceeding 1,000 citations. His representative works include DnCNN (integrated into MATLAB), FFDNet (winner of the 2024 IEEE Signal Processing Society Best Paper Award), SRMD, IRCNN, USRNet, DPIR, SwinIR, BSRGAN, SCUNet, and ConverseNet. As a key contributor, he received the 2020 Heilongjiang Provincial Natural Science First Prize, the 2022 Chongqing Municipal Natural Science Second Prize, and the 2024 China Electronics Society Natural Science First Prize. He currently leads three Vertical Research Projects, including the Excellent Young Scientists Fund (Overseas).
