Shuai Wang is an Associate Professor on a Tenure-Track at the School of Intelligence Science and Technology, Nanjing University, and an Executive Committee Member of the CCF Special Interest Group on Speech, Dialogue, and Audition. He focuses on intelligent audio signal processing research, covering multimodal acoustic signals such as speech, audio events, and music. He graduated with a B.E. from Northwestern Polytechnical University in 2014 and obtained his Ph.D. from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2020. He has served as an associate research scientist at the Shenzhen Research Institute of Big Data and a joint Ph.D. student with Professor Haizhou Li. He has also worked as a senior research scientist at Lightspeed & Quantum Studios, Tencent, leading a team in the R&D of speech technologies for gaming scenarios. He has published over 40 papers as the first or corresponding author in top-tier conferences and journals such as ICASSP and Interspeech, and holds more than ten authorized patents. He has won championships in international competitions such as VoxSRC 2019 and DIHARD 2019, as well as the Best Paper and Best Student Paper Awards at ISCSLP 2024. He initiated open-source tools WeSpeaker and WeSep, whose pre-trained models have been downloaded more than ten million times per month on the HuggingFace platform, and have been widely applied in both academia and industry. He is currently in charge of several scientific research projects, including a Youth Project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, a sub-project of the Joint Research Project of the Yangtze River Delta Innovation and Technology Community, an Open Project of the Key Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence of the Ministry of Education, and the CCF-NetEase Rayfire Innovation Fund. He maintains close cooperation and communication with well-known domestic and international enterprises and research institutes, and actively recommends students for internships at leading companies such as Tencent, ByteDance, NetEase, and Meta FAIR. Some students have successfully been selected for elite talent programs such as Tencent Rhino Bird and ByteDance TopSeed.
