Ji Wei is a Tenure-Track Associate Professor and Ph.D. Supervisor at the School of Intelligence Science and Technology, Nanjing University, and has been selected for a national young talent program. He received his Ph.D. degree from the DCD Lab, College of Computer Science, Zhejiang University in 2020. Subsequently, he worked as a Senior Postdoctoral Fellow at the National University of Singapore (NUS), focusing on multimodal research under the supervision of Professor Chua Tat-Seng and Professor Roger Zimmermann, both fellows of the Singapore Academy of Sciences.His research interests include multimodal understanding and generation, multimodal retrieval and recommendation, multimodal foundation models and agents, as well as their applications in vertical domains such as entertainment, healthcare, and energy. He has published over 80 papers in CCF-A conferences and IEEE journals, including TPAMI, TIP, ICML, NeurIPS, ICLR, CVPR, ICCV, and ACL. His work has received over 5,500 citations on Google Scholar. He was a finalist for the CVPR 2022 Best Paper Award and received the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) Young Outstanding Paper Award in 2024.He serves as a Guest Editor for the International Journal of Computer Vision (IJCV) and an Associate Editor for IEEE TIP, IEEE TCSVT, Pattern Recognition, and ACM TOMM. He is a reviewer for numerous top-tier journals and conferences, including TPAMI, IJCV, TIP, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, ACL, and ACM MM. He has served as the Publicity Chair for ACM MM 2025, the Local Chair for EMNLP, and has organized multiple challenges and workshops at CVPR, SIGIR, and ACM Multimedia.
